Title: Spirulina in Management of Hyperlipidemia & Weight Reduction CVD Prevention- A Meta-analysis

Abstract

Objective 
To expose the hypolipidemic effect and weight reduction potency of Spirulina to prevent from CVD.
METHODOLOGY
Study Design: Meta-analysis based on RCT studies.
Intervention: Spirulina Mean dosage ranges 1000-2000 mg/day till 3 months for weight reduction and 8 grams/day for 12 weeks for hyperlipidemia Research Instrument: PICO 
Sampling Procedure:  PRISMA Flow:150 publications were screened & 20 RCTs studied met inclusion criteria extracted by google scholar, NCBI, Willey online and online database. and a selection of international journals up to 30 April 2022 and recorded the statistics.
Statistical Analysis: Descriptive analysis and inferential analysis by paired sample t-test and one-way ANOVA has been done.
RESULT
Present Meta-analysis of Super Food Spirulina (A blue green Alga) consist of 20 RCT Studies in which 90% studies were shown positive results: 
1-Spirulina decreased TCL 15% by mean p-value 0.01 (Before Mean STD 239±8 (CI 95%) (After mean STD 203±1 (CI 95%), LDL reduction 24% by mean p-value 0.02 (Before Mean STD 162±8 (CI 95%) (After mean STD 125±3 CI 95%) and triglyceride 36% by mean p-value 0.004 (Before mean STD 233±1 (CI 95%) (After mean STD: 152±1 (CI 95%). Significantly BMI reduction by mean p-value 0.003 (Before Mean STD 29.56±2 (CI 95%) (After mean STD 25.8±2) (CI 95%) 
CONCLUSION
The present study demonstrates that Spirulina is a super food and capable of reducing obesity and also manifesting antioxidant effects cholesterol-lowering, anti-inflammatory, anticancer, treat imbalance BMI, fatty liver, alcoholic, antiviral, antibacterial. It should be implemented in a clinical practice worldwide to avoid side effect & treatment of hyperlipidemia, weight reduction to prevent from highest rate of worldwide CVD mortality.

Kaneez Fatima Jawwad has completed his M.Sc Public Nutrition with GPA: 4.0 from Allama Iqbal Open University, Pakistan. She is Certified Clinical Dietitian from Shifa International University and Hospital and now preparing for PhD.She is research grant winner of IUNS-ICN Tokyo 2022, Japan, she has submitted her publication in Lancet and some publication is under process as she just finished M. Sc in December 2022 . she has started serving as an editorial board member of several reputed journals.
