This research paper deals with various policies of Indian agriculture economy such as production strategies, investment outlook, infrastructure gaps, research and extensions, agricultural trade and commerce, agribusiness, agri-finance, agriculture exports, livelihood, employment, fisheries, livestock, food production, and its availability, policy interventions and implications etc. The time has come to shift the production-based agriculture economy to a market-based economy, so does the policy change. India cannot achieve higher economic growth without a revolution in the agriculture sector. India has its first comprehensive agricultural export policy which demands policy reforms in the fabrics of agricultural setup.
Parashram Patil is an agricultural and natural resources economist and social scientist. He is a well-known international expert in the field of agriculture and natural resources economics. He has earned Doctorate from Shivaji University, Kolhapur, (Agro based Industry of India) and Post Doctorate from Savitribhai Phule University, Pune (Natural Resources Accounting). He is NMML Fellow. He is presently working as consultant/expert at various international organizations like United Nations, Asian Development Bank and Government of India etc. He has versatile experience of working with various prestigious national and international organizations.
